Dore is an intimate bar experience within the Manuscript – Jhilwara Haveli, built on the idea  of connection through taste, memory and  expeantial storytelling.
Inspired by the rich cultural fabric of Rajasthan, it reinterprets stories from across the region - ancient, local and contemporary, using indigenous ingredients and craft

The challenge

Udaipur’s bar landscape is largely defined by generic, entertainment-led formats centred around loud music, DJ-driven experiences, and predictable beverage programs. Existing venues prioritise volume and spectacle over craftsmanship, curation, and depth, leaving a notable gap for discerning drinkers, hospitality professionals, and globally aware bar enthusiasts seeking a more elevated and authentic drinking experience.

Design Approach

At its core, the concept is built around connection—linking people to place, ingredients to their origins, and experiences to lasting memories. It repositions the traditional bar format into a story-led, hyperlocal, and immersive destination where every touchpoint carries meaning. Through sensory storytelling, narratives unfold not through words alone, but through taste, texture, aroma, and atmosphere. Rajasthan is not treated as inspiration, but as an active collaborator, with ingredients, craftsmanship, materials, and local makers shaping every aspect of the experience.
